Life
Well, let's see!
After high school I spent the first year taking nursing classes at DMACC in Ankeny. Got my LPN (BARELY) and decided I wasn't ready to be a nurse.
Spent that summer going to concerts and hanging at the white house with Dirk and Will and sometimes Joe.
Then decided to take some business classes at DMACC. That lasted about two semesters, I think. Then, as a lot of college students do, I TOOK A YEAR OFF!!!!
However, I did go back! Went to Mercy College of Health Sciences and got my RN. Since then have worked mostly in renal dialysis, with some experience in cardio...Expand for more
logy, internal medicine and transplantation.
Just before graduating from Mercy College I was set up on a blind date with Jay Schroeder. I always said I'd NEVER get married! But after our second date I knew he was the one! We were engaged after dating (and knowing each other) only three months! We then got married in October of 2003.
Before you ask, NO, WE DON'T HAVE KIDS YET! But we are adopting! We've been on the waiting list since March 2007 and we're waiting.....patiently!
I also had my second kidney transplant in August of 2006, just four days before my 28th birthday. All is well!
