Moving on, I release you, pain.
Breathing in the love, I release you, pain.
Believing in love, I release you, pain.
Embracing truth, I release you, pain.
Calling for help from the Universe, I release you, pain.
Filling myself full of hope, I release you, pain.
Inhaling the comfort of my friends, I release you, pain.
Inviting new life and love in, I release you, pain.
I release you.
I release you.
I release you.
I'm an old hippie and I don't know what to do. Should I hang on to the old or should I grab on to the new?
I'll do just about anything to help a fellow veteran or some one wanting help that is willing to help themselves.
I am extremely proud that I am a veteran of The Women's Army Corps
Song of the Women’s Army Corps
If the task at hand is an Army command
And the deadline is zero hour,
If the way is rough and the odds are tough
And the need is for all out power,
And if everyday brings a challenge your way,
No matter what the score,
Count the mission won, for the job will be done
By the WOMEN’S ARMY CORPS!
Pallas Athene, Goddess of Victory
History tells your story brave,
And our own Statue of Liberty,
Shows what we’ve sworn to save!
Shout the word around, let the echo resound
On every distant shore,We have a date with destiny,
Ready, the WACs are ready,
Their pulse is steady,
A world to set free,
Service, we're in heart and sou...Expand for more
l,
Victory is our only goal.
We love our Country's honor,
And we'll defend it against any foe.”
Whether peace or war, there’s a need evermore,
For the WOMEN’S ARMY CORPS!!

OUR DAY
It was her turn
She walked to the podium, papers in hand
A thousand thoughts flew through her mind
Like leaves on the wind
Could she? Would she? How could she?
Bees were buzzing around her head, her mouth dry, throat closing…
All eyes were on her
Tears straining to be released
What if he was watching?
She would be judged, this was dangerous!
She started with just her name, and soon the words began to flow:
Her story began with naiveté, and new courage, then horror and pain.
Darkness swallowed her and she prayed for death
But it was not a gift to be given, she could only have it by her own hand
She was so torn, not wanting to die but the pain unending torment
She floated through her life, wearing a mask, screaming and dying inside
She seared her pain into her skin, crying for help wanting them to see
Time and again, the wounds, the bandages
But no one said anything, or really asked
Years later, one little question in passing, quiet, almost unheard
Have you ever been?
That one simple question brought back that horrible night
It slammed into me like wave on the ocean, took my breath away
No one had ever asked
I had never asked
And I said… yes…
It was the tipping point on the roller coaster
There were social workers, counseling, groups, drugs
And so many tears.
It all came back worse than before and days I wanted to die
Its supposed to get better not worse!!
There are still days I think about it
But thinking is not doing
There will never be a cure for me, but maybe someday, for some…
If I can get through each day, make the best of each day…
As she finished her words, and dried her tears
Her very soul seemed to be trembling
She was grateful for their appreciation
But she didn’t do it for recognition
She felt lighter
He would no longer have power over her
And we will no longer be silent
This was a day of freedom
This was for her, for all of us
This is OUR day.We have a date with destiny,
Ready, the WACs are ready,
Their pulse is steady,
A world to set free,
Service, we're in heart and soul,
Victory is our only goal.
We love our Country's honor,
And we'll defend it against any foe.”".
