Kellie's Story

Life After High School I went to business school and worked in the real world for a day or two, then decided to persue a theater career. I turned professional in 1993 and performed in various shows throughout Delco and Philly. I was in the National Tour of Grease for over a year traveling 48 states and 2 provinces of Canada. I became a member of the Actors Equity Association, lived in NYC for awhile, then moved home in a day when my mom was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in May of 1999. I have been home since. I continued to perform for a few years, but then in June 2001 my mom was considered disabled and no longer able to work. This changed my life pretty dramatically, stopped performing, bought her house from her and went back out into the real world. I created a foundation in her name "The Eleanor Bobbie Renshaw Foundation" to help defray medical expenses and have done various fundraisers to "help the cause". Unfortunately, my mom passed away July of 2005. She was fighting until the very end and went very peacfully. Still dealing with it all, but luckily have an extremely crazy Cairn Terrier puppy who keeps me busy as well as a wonderful new hubby...Bill Tully (gradutated in 1990), whom I married on my mom's birthday (June 9 of this year) and we added a crazy little boy Beagle to the brood, Buster...he is all boy and all puppy. We are crazy! I am a step-mom to his almost 13...Expand for more
years old daughter. I am back in the theatre world working as an assistant to the Producing Artistic Director and Equity Stage Manager of a local theatre as well as choreographing and teaching dance again. I am an Emergency Medical Technician part time with a local Fire Company. I would love to hear from my old pals from the past. School I hated high school, sadly I did what I could to get by. I would have been completely content dancing and singing all day. Little did I know I could have. My biggest regret in H.S. was that our Drama/Chorus Department was not very well developed or supported. I had a small group of pretty close friends that completely lost touch a few years after graduation and that made me very sad. I see some of those names as well on Classmates, I wish them all the best and hope that they may take the time to drop me a line. Okay, that's all for the sappy stuff. College I graduated from DCCC in May of 2007 as an Emergency Medical Technician. Currently running with a local Fire Company part time on their ambulance. Workplace Being in theater you seem to take any and every strange little job that will help you get by. I can't even begin to count how many jobs I've had since graduation. It might be fun to try, I'm sure I would miss some. Ahhh...the life of the theatre gypsy...but I'm back...watch out!! The numbers of jobs will just keep growing.
