Gina's Story

Life After high school I went to Fullerton College for awhile. I got married and had my first daughter. That did not go so well. I was in a near fatal car accident at the age of 24. Angelina and I are both very lucky to be alive. I was told by the Dr's if I got to keep my legs I would never walk again. Fooled them I learned how to snow ski with both legs intact, one month after they took both casts off and it was only 4 months after the accident. I got to meet Connie Chung as I did a special with her on seat belt safety. I worked with National Traffic and Safety to get the automatic seat belts eliminated from the United States market place. I spoke at various Law conferences regarding product liability and how as a nation we need to make sure we are doing our job to assure that all items coming into and manufactured by the US are not hurting and killing the American public. For those of you that do not know me very well I believe you receive what you give. At trial I was awarded 8.5 million dollars. I only kept enough to pay the medical bills, Attorneys fees, and enough to live on for a few years. The rest I gave to a family that had been in a crash just like mine and there son needed continues care. Adam will be for ever in my heart as he was only 6 years old when he died. His mom wanted to donate his organs but he was brought back to far. Adam could not do anything for himself ever again. They did not get enough money to take care o...Expand for more
f him from the auto manufacture for the amount of years they thought he would live. I was lucky as I still had my life. I also refused to sign any thing stating I would not talk about the defects in the seat belt. My second husband and I have been together for 16 years. We worked together when I had my accident. He and fellow co-workers sat out side my room for days. When I was able to return to work I was in the process of getting divorced and we just started hanging out. He is my best friend and is very supportive of all I do. After the accident they also said I would never be able to have any other children. Once again fooled them. I have three beautiful children, of which two were born after the accident. I worked as a Manager of Underwriting for two different Medical, Dental, Vision & Life Insurance companies. And they said I would never use the Algebra II formulas I was taught. I am thinking about getting my advanced degree in Actuarial Science. Now that my littlest is in school full time. I love the science that makes up the statics. Who would have known. My husband has his law degree and teaches people how to do their own incorporation, living wills, trust and things like that. Right now I am not working just having fun with the kids and riding my horse as much as I can. I have accomplished much more then I ever thought I would. I have the love of a great man, my children, my health and my faith. Who could I ask for more.
