Walter's Story

Life Have three daughters Brittiany, Ashley, and Kaetlyn, a wonderful wife (Melodi). Life has been good so far. I've been working in .com companies developing software, in and around the LA area for the past 15 years. I'm now the director of engineering at an online lead generation and marketing company, Vantagemedia.com, for colleges and universities. In 2005, I also got my pilot's license and added an instrument rating. Yes, this led to another new hobby, that got me involved in some local politics and now I'm the president of the Oxnard airport association. Besides that, I enjoy spending time I have with my new daughter Kaetlyn, and wife Melodi. We also have a new addition on the way coming February 2008. Busy but happy. College I went to Moorpark College for a few semesters, and got busy with work. I started college again and have completed a Bachelors of Science in Information Technology, and look at working on a masters in either business or in computers. dustry working in call centers and then doing industry liaison work. Then decided to change careers and went into IT as a software engineer. I did consulting for the Department of the Navy (Y2K). Then moved on to many dot com companies. Etoys, WeddingChannel, DirectTV, LowerMyBills, and now Director of Engineering at Vantage Media. I manage a team of 16 developers and managers working on lead generation and search advertising solutions. Military After High school, I went into the Army as a Legal Specialist, this is the equivalent of a para-legal. I was stationed with the 4th Battaioni, 6th Infantry Regiment at Fort Polk, Louisiana. This unit was called into Panama for Operation "Just Cause", which ousted Dictator Manuel Noriega. After coming home from that operation and my term of service was ending, I went back to California and enlisted in California National guard. Here I was called up to active duty again to enjoy the LA Riots. After 6 years, I decided to call it quits. Since my civilian life was getting busier.
