With the continued contributions from faithful columnists and the addition of several new contributors, the newspaper has grown from 12 pages in February 2003 to its current 24-32 pages. Circulation has doubled and the paper’s popularity is growing. Debra views the newspaper as a means to raise awareness of the wonders that exist in her beloved Community of Woodlawn and the surrounding neighborhoods. The publication focuses on schools, churches, and individual accomplishments involving Woodlawn. They encourage readers to be a part of every issue and use the Woodlawn Villager as a voice to “brag” about local happenings. They often walk through the neighborhood seeking input from community members. Debra and her mother are totally committed to making the Woodlawn Villager Community Newspaper a relevant positive resource for readers to keep abreast of neighborhood happenings.
