Jennifer's Story

Life Hello! Okay, my life ... Reggie Penn and I were married July 2003 in Maui, Hawaii. After dating since 9th grade, I guess we figured it was time! We don't have children (don't plan to), but have two kitties, Max and Sammy. We just moved to Issaquah to be closer to both our jobs and really like it. I work for Windermere in Bellevue and Reggie works for Computer Associates. School My biggest crush was Reggie and I guess that worked out! :) I had a couple of really great teachers. Ms. Karen Verner was one of my favorites. She was really tough, but always fair. I also enjoyed Mr. Bronowitz, the Commercial Foods teacher. He could come across as an ass sometimes, but he is actually really wonderful! I would PROBABLY do it all again ... it just wasn't that bad! It was so much easier then! College I went to Green River Community College right after high school, but withdrew due to an illness. I never received a degree, but definitely do not feel it has held me back in any way. I did take some computer courses years later that really paid off, thankfully! Workplace I worked for a Hallmark s...Expand for more
tore during and after high school. Then I switched to being a swing manager at McDonald's, which paid much better and enabled Reggie and I to move in together (we moved in together in 1991). While working at McDonald's, I took those computer courses and started sending out resumes. I was finally hired to work at a Word Processor in a real estate appraisal firm and I was there for 6 years. I gained invaluable experience there, as well as long-lasting friendships. In fact, the man that hired me ended up working for Reggie for a time, and was the officiant at our wedding in Hawaii. It was a great experience to work for that company. When I left that company, I finally was able to do what I had always wanted to do, social work. I was in the field of social work for over 7 years, both in Seattle and NYC. Very rewarding, but very tough and you get paid very little. I decided on a career change upon moving back to Seattle in October 2003 - I just needed something different, so real estate it was. I am having a great time! It is also really hard work, but rewarding in different ways that social work. Military None.
