Cheryl's Story
I have been married for 26 years-met my husband in 1978-married 4 years latter-6 years latter we had the first of our 3 boys, Kale born in 1988,Logan in 1992,Pierce in 1997. We have lived in St. Joseph the entire time, on our second home. When we retire we hope to move south. My husband is with the State Of Missouri in Law Enforcement. Our life is very crazy. My Mom no longer lives in Elwood as of May 2007. We moved her to St. Joe to be closer when she needs me. She has alzheimers and is a recent brest cancer survivor. I take care of all her doctor apointments, medications and daily living needs. Along with that I manage a 102 unit Apartment complex under Section 236 of HUD for low income persons. There is always an infulx of people and a TON of paperwork. I love to be on the property and have no problem not only doing my in office work but also any maintenance repairs that may come up. Kale has worked for a large grocery in town for the past 3 years and they continue to advance him in the company. He loves to fish,golf, play baseball, basketball, Hap kito black belt. He is into sports. Logan is in Boy Scouts and volenteers every day at the military musem. That is his passion (military history) When most kids would have been watching cartoons he was watching the History channel. He is in the top 2% in the nation in the High School rating for Language Arts,Math & Science. Pierce is also in the Boy Scouts-loves vidio games,friends and what ever his brothers like. He is in group called the "Breakfast Club". During the school year they have breakfast every Friday (6:30am) to discuss life,the world and play. They have been doing this for the past 3 years.
As you can see life is busy. But no matter where I am Elwood will always be HOME and I let my kids know what a great place it was to grow up. I hope they will have the same great memories here as I had there.
