Charles's Story
Life
Graduated from Clarkston High in 1986. . . .went to the Citadel in 1986 and left the Citadel in 1986. . .went to Hampden-Sydney college, Va. in 1987 and graduated with a B.A. in religion in 1991. . .went to work for the Dekalb County Police Department in 1994 and have been there ever since. . .still love my job!
I'm married for the third time, even though the second one didnt really count (lasted all of 6 months). Current wife is the best thing that ever happened to me. She is a cop with Dekalb also. Have an 8 year old son named "Sandy" from my first marriage. My wife and I currently live in oakwood, Ga near Lake Lanier.
Looking forward to the 20th anniversary Reunion for Clarkston high School in September. Went by there the other day and although the school looks the same, I was glad to be armed when I went inside. I'm sure it has the same high standards now it had back in 1986.
Update. . .left Dekalb County in 2007 and joined the City of Milton. I am once again enjoying my work. Even though I was sorry to cut my ties with the area I have known most of my life, I am glad to be free of Dekalb as it has lost all the appeal it had when I was younger.

me as well. . .I guess I'm just not cut out for marriage. For those of you that are married, whether happily or not, cherish every minute you have. Because you never know when the person you love will stop loving you and fall for someone else. Also, since I now have so much insight into marriage and divorce, our parents were always right when they said "get to know someone very well before you even contemplate marriage."
My son turned 10 this weekend and as those of you who have children know, he is growing up really fast and time is flying by. He is playing football this year and is on the same team as John and Sandy Cunningham's son. It has been good to keep in touch with Clarkston High Alumni and see how their lives have evolved as well.
Divorce final as of February 2008. Life has finally reached a nice even keel. Bought a motorcycle the same month and am finally riding again. It gives me such peace and a chance to contemplate things when I ride. As long as people on their cell phones don't accidentally run me over. Have also gotten active in church again and it has made positive changes in my life. Makes me wonder why I ever left / quit going in the first place. More as it becomes available. . .
