Rebecca's Story
Life
After graduating from Longwood College, I was married and became the Personnel Manager for General Services in Richmond. I worked there 5 years then my husband and I moved to Louisville KY where he could attend Southern Theological Seminary and work on his Master's in Church Music. I was the Regional Property Manager for a large Property management Company in Lousiville, Medford Property Co. We had our first son, Grant, on 10/29/84. After Seminary we moved to Burlington, NC where we have been for 21 years. Joel is Minister of Music and Admin. at First Baptist Church and I have my own Interior Design and Custom Sewing business called The Finishing Touch and I also manage a warehouse of fabrics called Remnants & Textiles. two other children while in Burlington. Benjamin was born on 8-8-88 and Anna was born 10-15-90. Grant is now an aeronautical engineer with BE Aerospace, Inc. in Winston-Salem and was married 9/22/07 and Benjamin is attending The U.S. Air Force Academy in Coloragdo Springs, CO where he also plays Division 1 football. Anna is a senior in highschool and is a soloist/dancer in all the theatrical performances there. She has been awarded a NC Teaching Fellows Scholarship in the fall to APpalachian State University. Our favorite thing to do is go to Gwynn's Island,VA on the Chesapeake Bay and enjoy sailing, boating, crabbing, fishing, etc. All the rest of the year we are working for college $$ and wedding $$ vacation $$ and retirement $$, etc.
