Life Hey from southern Maryland! We live on the 'western shore' of the Chesapeake Bay in a small town named Huntingtown, Maryland, in Calvert County Maryland. I am married to Mark Simms for the past 18 years with 1 son, Christopher, who is 12 years old in the 7th grade. While some of you are probably grandparents, I started my family late!! Out of 4 babies, only 1 lived and he is definitely a keeper!!! From AFCENT, I returned Stateside and married my USAF boyfriend, John Badey, Jr. in November of 1973. That lasted until 1976 when I moved to Washington, DC to accept a job on Capitol Hill with Congressman Jack Brooks from Texas! What a surly old man!!! I Completed college while I worked with a BSBA in Professional Accounting from The American University. I job hopped around the government quite a bit, 3 years was about my turn-over time! So, I worked for the Select Committee on Narcotics Abuse and Control, then on to the Executive Branch of the Government with the General Services Administration, Naval Electronic System Command (NAVALEX), DOD Inspector General Auditor, U.S. Customs Service Seized Property Auditor and, later, program manager. Once Customs joined with Homeland Security--the job was a joke!!! I filed a discrimination case against by Assistant Commission, dealt with an enforcement agency's long reach in trying to discredit me, yet, prevailed in the end with a settlement amount and an early out!!! So, at 48, I was retired receiving a pension based on 28 years of service with a high grade of 14. Not bad money!!! While in DC, I had a fabulous opportunity for jobs and fun! From 1976-July 1985, I was foot loose and fancy free and had had many relationships. Yet in July 1985, I met Mark and the rest is history! He is a Baltimoran---which is his downfall!!!
