John B.'s Story
Life
I attended both Clark & Carver High Schools (transferred to Carver after a year at Clark)
in New Orleans, and eventually left home to join the Air Force. Following the military, I attained a degree in Math from Alabama St. University. I'm married(38 yrs) and now have 4 children. I was at AT&T for 25 years and retired in 2003.
Workplace
I began my post college work career by working for 1 year Central Computer Services, Inc. while in grad school at UAB in B'ham, Al. I then landed a job with Bell South as a System Software Engineer and was assigned to support the TIRKS application. Remained there for 5 years and then pursued a transfer to American Bell in Orlando, FL. Had assignments over the next 18 years in Data Center Ops, Tech Support, Network Ops and Disaster Recovery. t to AT&T Broadband in 2000 supporting the Cable Telephony initiative and commuted to Denver for 2.5 yrs from Orlando. Will retire in May 2003 and return to Orlando to pursue a new career.
Military
I had a grand time growing up in the Air Force. Went from my home in New Orleans to basic at Lackland to my first assignment at Mt. Home and made a big adjustment to a slower way of life(what I needed to settled down). Left Mt. Home for Guam and joined Andersen Bombers football team and was starting left defensive end. We beat everyone one on the Island and ended up playing Subic Bay to a tie in the Philippines. Finished my tour at Craig AFB in Selma and entered college to play football at Alabama State Univ. I made many friends along the way and would love to hear from any of them just to reminiscence.
