Life: I retired from the telephone company in NY as of 1994 & moved to Hickory, NC with my 2 youngest boys. After working an additional 16 years as a permanent part-time employee with Catawba County Schools, I finally retired effective 12/31/2015 and am loving retirement! I keep myself very busy by helping friends who are in need, by babysitting mostly the 2 1/2 year old grandson (sometimes the 6 yr old too) and by playing cards with friends. At this point one of my sons, Scott, is an Engineer with the Hickory City Fire Department. He is married to Kim & together they have 6 children, (Number 6 arrived August 28, 2019 They own a 3 bedroom home in NE Hickory. Kim works for Catawba County EMS. She is very talented. Recently she completely redid the 2nd floor bathroom and is now working on finishing the basement. She has completed most of it, adding 3 more bedrooms and a living room for the kids. She amazes me.
