CLASS OF 1971
St. johnsville, NY

Judith's Story

Life Hi to ALL St. J 1971 graduates... After graduation in 1971, I attended cosmetology school and got my hairdressing license. I married Bill Davis in June 1972 and moved to Norfolk, VA, where Bill was stationed in the Navy. We lived in Norfolk for 2 years before moving back to New York State. Lived in St. Johnsville for awhile, then moved to the metropolis of Sprakers, before moving to Hamlin, NY and then to LeRoy, NY. We have 3 boys, ages 33, 30, and 27; a grandson (4 yrs old) and a long-awaited granddaughter (3 yrs old). Need I say, after growing up with four brothers and raising three sons, I was on Cloud 9 when I was told I was having a granddaughter. And yes...she is spoiled!! Grandson #3 is in the oven - due in June 2006. Bill and I have lived in LeRoy for 25 years. I didn't stay in the hairdressing business long. Have had several "career" moves along the way. Let's see... they would include waitress, sewing machine operator at Little Falls Footware, newspaper journalist, pennysaver delivery, waitress again, camera assembler at Kodak, payroll and human resources administration at Kodak, enrollment management at Genesee Community College, bank teller for a couple local banks in LeRoy and Batavia, and tax preparer for H&R Block. But I am now (and have been for 15 years) working at Upstate Farms Cooperative in Buffalo, NY, as the Executive Secretary to the CEO and Board of Directors. Upstate is a dairy cooperative, and our fluid and cultured products are sold throughout the U.S. For those who travel, you will find our yogurt products offered on various airlines and on many of the cruiselines. In addition to my secretarial duties, I am the Office Manager of the Corporate Headquart...Expand for more
ers, and also arrange and manage all travel for the company. Bill is still surviving at Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY. He has been with them for 25 years. My oldest son, Bill, went to Delhi and Syracuse Universities. He works in the environmental field, specializing in building and engineering waste water treatment plants. He is married, no children (yet), and lives on Conesus Lake. My middle son, Bob, went into the US Army, and then into the NYS National Guard. His Guard unit was activated and deployed to Iraq last year. After being away for 18 months, the entire unit returned home safely in September 2005. Bob is married, has a daughter, and lives in LeRoy. My youngest son, Brian, also went into the US Army after graduation. He spent 8 months in Kosivo and 3 years in Germany. He currently works construction for a firm in Rochester. Brian is "soon to be divorced", has a son and lives in LeRoy. Besides work and my family, my extracuricular activities include gardening, trying to get to the gym on a routine basis, refinishing furniture (antiques), and just hanging out with friends. We do some traveling when time and money permits. My most recent extracuricular activity will be to get a 35th class reunion together for the weekend of October 7 & 8, 2006. Mary Ann (Miosek) Murphy and I have been working on it since last fall. Actually, Mary Ann has done most of the work at this point. But has asked me to finish up, since she and her husband will be out of the country for the next few months. I hope we can get a good turnout. It would be good to see everyone and catch up on the years that have crept by so fast. Info will follow. Your Fellow Classmate of '71......Judy
