Traci's Story
Classmates has been bugging me for a story, so here goes...
I married my husband Jerry right out of highschool. We started pastoring this church the very same day we were married.. During the last 28 years we have traveled the world, pastor a church in Sicily as well, have had 4 beautiful children, 2 girls and 2 boys. All of them are absolutely wonderful. The boys are very tall...6"3 and 6"4...gentle giants like their daddy. The girls are my size and so pretty. I am so blessed to have them. In December 2012, the love of my life went to be with his Master in heaven. It's only been a few weeks. I'm heartbroken and I miss him so much. I'm to the point where I can think about him, remember the good times we had together and not cry so much. I look for the day we will...Expand for more
be together again. I've never known such piercing pain as this. I know there are people who will read this who have gone through the same thing. The only thing I can say is what a very wise woman told me. She said, "Time doesn't heal, only Jesus does." and she is so right. Time may dull the pain, maybe, but only Jesus can heal the broken heart.
One thing I am sure of is that life does go on...it has to for me. I have 4 kids and I have the churches he poured his entire life into.. Even though my kids are older, 19-27, they still need me. Sometimes I'll catch one of the boys out of the corner of my eye and they look just like their dad. They will come and just sit with me, just to comfort me. And I know their hearts are broken too. I'm very blessed to have them.
