I attended Notre Dame in 1957 and 1958. My name then was Mary Jame Lambert. I changed my first name to Kim because no one ever used Mary Jane - it was always a variation, such as Mary Jo, Mary Ann, Mary Beth, etc. I moved to Minneapolis in 1960 and worked in a real estate office. Being an adventurous person, I had always dreamed of moving to California - a culture greatly different than where I had grown up - Zell and Aberdeen, South Dakota. In 1964 I embarked on my adventure to San Francisco. It was a culture shock, to be sure, and I absolutely loved it, as I tend to be liberal vs. conservative.
