Life
I got back from Aussie where I worked in Scone which they call the "Horse Capital" and am SO missing it and the mates I have there. I have been offered an internship in equine surgery and reproduction in Ocala, Florida. I am moving into my house there May 1st and getting ready to go full throttle 24/7 for 365 days. After my internship, I'll apply for a residency in equine reproduction or surgery, which ever fits my liking the most during my internship experience. Would love to go back and do my residency in Aussie. :-( I love the US, southern part particularly and Florida being surrounded by beaches had my name stamped on it. I actually am looking forward to my internship even though I'll be worked hard and feel a bit stupid at time....'my blonde moments'. The practice which offered me the position is very welcoming and my mentor is impossible to describe....SMART as hell yet has the patience to teach and give me hands on work with medical cases, field/farm calls, emergencies, surgeries, etc. He can also turn the heat and pressure on making it a must to be able to handle and work in stressful, multi-tasked situations. , with no kids which I don't have a desire for children. I think family and parenting are really important when raising children, so until I can dedicate my time to a child I won't tackle the responsibility of one. I have plenty of four legged children....4 dogs, 2 cats, 4 horses and a minature jackass. We are always busy with them and are equally entertained. My brother and sister have enough kids to make up for me not having any...Erin my sister had her 2nd baby (girl) Madelyn Sky this March and my brother, Chris has two and his added precious Bailey. His newest addition, Ashton, is to die for and Kelsey comes and stays with her aunt and uncle all the time. Children are nice like that because you can enjoy them, yet when they get cranky you can send them home to mom and dad. Other than that I spend most of my time cramming things into my head for school and now to pass the Florida state boards. But when you send a patient home or make them better it's a feeling you'll never forget.
Our 10 year high school reunion is coming up and I'd love to hear from my 'old family' and get something arranged so we can all meet and catch up. Just finding it SO difficult to locate and organize a reunion with all 22 people in my high school class of 97. Yeah that's a lot of 'lost' people, eh?
