Joyce's Story
Life
As you probably know I married Joe Gates 33 years ago. We have 2 sons, Jason who is with his lady Tiffany,and Aaron married his highschool sweetheart Paulette.Unfortunately they haven't yet given us grandchildren. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats. The dogs get most of our free time mainly because we have spoiled them and they demand the attention! Joe and I moved to the States in '76 but returned to Canada in '85. We live in Water Valley, Alberta. Joe commutes to Calgary and I have an in home business.
For those of you who knew my folks, my Mom passed away in 1998 with complications of diabetes and Dad passed away in 2002 with lung cancer. Joe's mother passed away in 1992 with cancer. We miss all three of them terribly but I'm sure they are all in a much better place. Joe's brother Tim passed away in 1998 because of CF. His wife Patti is living in Medicine Hat with their two daughters. We will be going there to celebrate Christmas (2007).
I went to Sask. in 2002 to build and run a store at my brother's ski lodge fishing resort. I unfortunately had a severe MS attack in March 2003. They thought it might be a stroke but after many tests and an MRI they diagnosed MS. I now have the pleasure of daily injections. Oh well, they keep me on a fairly even keel!
Joe is doing pretty well health wise, just battling with a bit of middleaged spread (aren't we all?).

....Here it is ...already February of 2008! We had a great visit with Patti and her girls. Joe accually had 17 days off work from just before Christmas to after New Years. He hadn't taken all of his paid holidays for 2007 so this was a great and relaxing time to do it.
We were just given absolutely wonderful news. Aaron and Paulette are making us GRANDPARENTS!!! Paulette is due to deliver in September.

Aaron and Paulette are the proud parents of a beautiful baby girl and her name is Alaina Marie Gates. Mom and daughter are doing fine.
Today is Oct.15,2008. Alaina is 1 month old today. She was born at 8lbs. 7oz. and at her 1 month checkup today she is 10lbs. 2oz. and is doing very well.
Jan. 11,2022...UPDATE...A lot has changed.Joe is still at his job with Eagle Pump and Compressor. Has been there since 1997 and doesn't plan on retiring til he is 75! He loves his job and has made himself irreplaceable. I'm very proud of him.
Jason and Tiffany broke up and a couple years later he found the love of his life, Chantal.They are now married and have had a son named Keegan. He is 9 years old. Aaron and Paulette have 3 kids...Alaina is now 13, Cameron is 11, and Gabrielle is 9. Gabrielle and Keegan were born 2 days apart and they are the best cousins you have ever seen! They are inseperable when together!
