Chester Turner:  

Graduated from Townsend Park in 1965, after we the track team set a record a 1:24 flat at wild cat stadium central high in the sprint medley thru G. dokes, lead off miler,down to the 4x220, George Garrett Auston,or Richard Wright, 1st leg,Cliff Taylor,Chester "cheT the jet" turner, Hubert D. Anderson, we wore out the champs of horace mann in that relay, we smoked south east, merril my moms high school,texakana,coleman,jones high, fort smith ect. Now if any one can find that news paper clipping, I would surely appreciate it , it seems that after The proud Lady that she is Townsend Park , all of the basketball,football,and track plaque with the relay team names on it, my dad saw our names on it,and he wittnessed my running the 3 leg, bless his soul,he told my sister charlotte, how proud he was seeing me do something right for once in my life, with that closing speed a 21.0 flat 220 our track coach was miton, O. cross,George Brown.
