Emily's Story
Life
After high school, I decided not to go on to college. I just wanted to work and play. Then, at age 25, I realized I needed to do something with my life so I went back to school. My school of choice was Texas A&M University-Commerce and I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. Two days after graduating, I got on a plane heading for Italy where I backpacked across their beautiful country for an entire month. It was my graduation present to myself and it was fabulous. I would love to go back to Europe someday.

I finally found a job in my field. I'm working at the Dallas County District Attorney's Office in downtown Dallas. Right now, it is just a legal secretary position but I'm hoping to change that soon. My goal is to move into the Family Violence Division helping those who have been victimized and need help.
Update 07/12/08:
After careful thought and consideration, our family decided to move out of the big city and back to into a more rural atmosphere. So we are back in Chapel Hill and loving it. We've been here about 3 months and still adjusting to a more laid-back, friendly town. I went to work for a civil attorney in private practice, different arena but still fulfilling. I would love to catch up with any old friends.
