John's Story
Life
I guess no news is good news. Every time I run in to someone from back in the day they tell me that I look the same. I don't know if that's good or not. Actually I can think of some kind of news.
- Still not married. Everyone keeps telling me not to do it. So I listened.
- Changed careers a few years back. Now I'm a pilot. Not an airline pilot though. I don't like those great big planes but I'll refrain from telling you why.
- I live in a little city outside of Atlanta. It's really nice here because winter only lasts for about a week.
- I'm not playing Disc Golf any more. Too many knee surgeries and trips to the Chiropractor. Now I keep myself busy with Volleyball, Mountain Biking and Whitewater Kayaking.
- Nope. No kids.
That's it for right now ;-)
School
School was very very good to me. Well..... maybe not. I wasn't all that good at it. Especially college. That didn't go very well at all. I guess I was spending too much time drinking and banging my head at Sudsy Malones to remember anything they were t...Expand for more
rying to teach me. I did get out relatively unscathed though. I only have a few scars from the crazy girls I dated.
Workplace
I originally went to college for mechanical engineering and that's the career path I took for quite a while. I got out and designed all kinds of things for the companies I worked for. Including.... Cots and stretchers for ambulances, pneumatic systems for honda welding robots, diaper making machines (jealous???), child safety seats and endoscopic surgical instruments. But the very best was when I worked in the Breast Care Department. I won't tell ya what I designed there.
Unfortunately I didn't enjoy all that engineering crap so I changed careers from designing medical equipment to being a pilot. I always wanted to do it (even though nobody knew about it) so I sold everything and went back to school. I really like it. The view from my new office changes every day and I get to see parts of the country that I never thought I would ever see. Including Deming, NM... there's nothing there, BTW. Don't ever go.
