Michael's Story
After graduating, I joined the US Navy, and was stationed aboard the USS Kitty Hawk, participating in a number of work-up cruises, and a 6 month Western Pacific Cruise (Hong Kong, Singapore, UAE, Hawaii, Mexico, etc.) I was then staitoned at Transient Personnel Unit, Southwest at 32nd St. Naval Station to get my bum knee fixed (Kitty Hawk medical, two thumbs down) before being discharged in April, 1995.
I began college in fall of 1995, finished graduating with a BA in Anthropology, with a focus in Archeology from SIUC. I basically used and abused VA/IL educational benefits to the tune of a 3.4 GPA. After graduation, I worked some dead-end jobs, t...Expand for more
hen jumped in to the IT field, retraining at Parkland and UIUC.
I bagged my job in Aug. 2001 at the U if I in the computing racket. After 6.5 years in Operations, mainly Data Center Ops, I bagged a different position as a Data Center Specialist.
I have lived in C-U for 7 years, and occasionally make it back home to fish with my father, family, and visit a few friends. Unmarried, child free, living like a college kid.
My hobbies include: Study of First Americans Archeology, BEER, reading, boating, fishing (esp. Ontario), camping, hiking, traveling, saving $ for retirement (Costa Rica or Mexico).
