Rick A. Parsons
I graduated from Haworth H.S. in 1973 and earned a B.S. in Biology from the University of Indianapolis in 1977. I have taught Biology, AP Environmental Science, Physiology/Anatomy at Kokomo H.S. since 1981. I taught four years before that at Elwood Haynes M.S. It is hard to believe but this is my 30th year of teaching science. My wife (Cathy Byers Parsons Haworth Grad. 1975) and I will celebrate our 30th anniversary this coming summer. We have one son, Zach, who turned twenty-one this past summer. We live on a small farm just outside of Kokomo near New London on Old Sycamore road. ng our old farm house and we really enjoy the quiet country life. I spend a lot of time outdoors working on our gardens, riding my bike, and just enjoying nature. I love to read books of all types but have started a new hobby writing reviews of various science books for our state science teachers journal "The Hoosier Science Teacher". We attended the twenty-fifth reunion of the class of 1973 and really enjoyed seeing classmates we had not seen in years. Yes, Rick Smith is still the same character he was 30 + years ago!
