Amy's Story

Life My life bio would be really long so I'll highlight what has had the biggest impact on my life since graduation from Hancock Central. I met my wonderful huband in Florida and knew instantly he was "the one" for me. We have been married 10 years and have three beautiful daughters...identical twins age 8 and a 4 year old. I have decided to home school my children because I believe that our public education system is teaching our children MORE than academics. I believe it is the job/role of parents to teach their children morals, values, beliefs that will shape that child's life. I am interested in academia for my children but not at the cost of having their brains filled with lies, corruption and selfish attitudes that are entirely against the way I have been raised. I love animals and children. I spend time "organizing" for a women of domestic violence shelter and my husband and I "mentor" married couples. The time we spend outside our home is spent at church or with families from church....Expand for more
None of this is intended to sound like I am great or I have life figured out because the fact is we are all "sinners"--every one of us is in need of redemption. We can't do this on our own--the blueprint to life really is the Bible. Anyhow, that's where I'm at...I offer my apologies to anyone I may have "hurt" while at Hancock--whether it was intentional or unintentional--maybe you've heard the phrase that "hurting people-hurt people." That is not offered as an excuse or justification, just that I have learned not to look for anybody but God to sustain me and my emotions. Oh by the way, Iowa is a really fun place to live--yeah, I know you really think I've lost it now! HAHA Best wishes to you all... Amy Oh, I almost forgot--I'm sorry if I haven't reponded to anyone's messages sent to me but I'm only as involved on this Classmates thing as I can be without paying for anything. Did I forget to mention that raising three children on one income is tight. HAHA Wouldn't have it any other way!!!
