Paula's Story
My first job was at Friendleys, where I got paid min wage to scoop ice cream. What I remember most about it is I worked at the one in Westbrook Village / West Roxbury. I remember going to the movie theatre and eating at the deli. I go by there now and the entire parking lot which use to be on the street level with the stores on a higher platform up a few stairs is all the one leve...Expand for more
l now. I also remember a group of guys who played basketball (across the street at the field on the VFW Parkway)coming in ordering Big Beef Special Platters, Banana Boats, and Jim Dandys. Good times good friends good memories.
I always wanted to be a singer in a rock n roll band when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a crazy idea. As it turns out, they were right.
