John's Story
Life
I'm recently retired. I worked with the Illinois State Police for over 26 years and retired as a Sector Commander / Lieutenant from the Illinois State Police district in Chicago.
I started my career in 1977. After attending the Illinois State Police Academy in Springfield, Illinois, I was assigned to District 4 in Crestwood, Illinois. Later, I was promoted to Master Sergeant and became a Platoon Commander in charge of a shift. After that, I was promoted to Lieutenat and worked as a Patrol Commander which provided State Police services for Southern Cook County. (I'm surprised that I only ran into one schoolmate from St. Simon's in all that time. Everyone else must have been very law abiding.)
After retiring I did just as I planned, which was to build a new home and work on projects for the house.
