Lisa's Story
Life
I have lived in Anchorage AK since 1982, where I raised a daughter, Sophie, and have enjoyed being in the amazing wilderness that is very close to where I live. After SEA Free School, I stayed in Minneapolis and attended the U of M, until I dribbled out. I worked in a camera store and strove for normalcy. In 79 I went to The Evergreen State College in Olympia WA, where I studied media production. After graduating, I moved to Anchorage Alaska, where I remain to this day. e had three careers here, first working in television and instructional media (at the NBC affiliate and the University), then as a family law paralegal, and finally in 2000 I obtained my MSW at UAA. I've worked as a medical social worker since, first in a dialysis clinic, later Hospice and currently in the Oncology clinic at a tribal health hospital. I was married in Sept 06 to Steve Kerr. Sophie graduated from TESC and works for the college as a Media Tech. I'd enjoy hearing from other Free Schoolers and Evergreen Alums.
