Charles's Story

Life I attended Casa Roble High School in California for only my Freshman year in 1984. I was very active in Ms. Fischer's Drama class. My best friend was named Michelle Provorse. Does anyone know where she is now? My family moved to Texas in the Summer of 1984 and I attended Jack C. Hays High School in Buda where my family also lived. I was active in Drama class there too taught my Mrs. Swinney. After graduating in 1987 I started at Southwest Texas State University(now named TEXAS STATE UNIVERSITY) from 1988 till Spring of 1992 Spring when I graduated with a B.A. in Poli. Sci. with a Minor in Journalism. I now live in Mount Joy, PA.. I moved here to the Northeast to get Married in 2004. I have a career in Customer Service with a local bank and my wife Emily teaches in a school-age childcare center. I enjoy life with my family, our cat, Sarah and I love serving in our local church, St. Mark's United Methodist as part of our praise band(actually one of two bands). College I attended Southwest Texas State University(now named Texas State University) in San Marcos Texas from fall 1987 - Dec. 1992. When I wasn't in my classes; I spent much of my time hanging out at the Baptist Student Center. Staff members I remember were Donna Mercer(secretary), Stan Harlen(Director), Mickey somebody(Director sometime later) and Laura HOTTE(outreach person) I was part of the Drama ministry with Will Mercer(son of Donna Mercer) and some others. I also was involved with the vocal ensemble headed by Theron Landrum. I graduated in Dec. 1992 with a B.A. in Political Science and a Minor in Journalism. My GPA was better for my Min...Expand for more
or than my Major. Workplace My first real jobs out of college were with Circuit City(about 8 months) and then when CompUSA built their new store on 183; I applied there and was hired for the Grand Opening. I ended up working there for over 6 years and left only because I found another job that would pay me more. I loved the store manager, Carin Falconer, who was there when I left and she had great respect and admiration for me(for what reasons I'm still not sure). I was even nominated by her(and won) for a CompUSA President's award for career achievment). I got a great, engraved plague(which I still have) and a $1000.00 bonus(before taxes). I left CompUSA in 1999 to a nearby place named Harte Hanks Response Management who was hiring telephone tech support Reps for CD Rom drives and digital cameras made by RICOH CORP.(yes it's japanese). I also ended up being cross-trained for Microsoft Xbox support(not as glamorous as you think it is). I worked with Harte Hanks till Aug. of 2003 when I resigned to move to PA. to get married to the woman who is now my wife. Yes, we met on the web, but I made her put forth most of the money and effort and she did so her reward was to be married to me(it's what SHE WANTED). So that brings it all up to present day. I work for Susquehanna Bancshares Inc., wish is a Corp. that owns and oversees 3 banks(it used to be 8 before the mergers) in the statesof PA, MD, WV and NJ. My job involves taking calls from customers for all 3 of these banks. It's a tough and stressful job(even though you are sitting all day), but someone has to be on the end of the phone when you call with questions. True?
