John's Story
My high school football career at Barringer spanned three years, 1965, 1966,1967. In 1966 and 1967 I was the starting Center . We had some awesome teams back then and I was honored to be a part of the rich Barringer Football Tradition. My teammates
were the best. I still cherish the fun we had winning
like we did and the great guys that my teammates were. ( additional write up in the top ten football player discussion message board.)
After Barringer I went to college in Wisconsin and was a starting linebacker there.I transferred to Jersey City State and started at Middle Linebacker
there, for two years.Our defense...Expand for more
was ranked third in the nation in my last year, 1971.
I was the General Manager of Hahne and Co. in the following stores Livingston, Monmouth and Newark.
In 1972 I married Debbie Marbach( BHS 1968) we have two awesome sons Jeff and Justin, Debbie is a math teacher at Bloomfield High School. In 1985 Jeff at age three was diagnosed with Leukemia, very long story short........ he is cured and has grown into a great young man. Justin is in college and is a wrestler and last year was ranked 9th in the country. Both boys had stellar high school careers in Football and Wrestling. We now reside in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ
