Everyone thinks they are going to grow up, graduate from high school, and move far away from their hometown, never to see those classmates again. Well, I'm one of those who never got out of Borger. I had plans too, but they faded as time went by and I had a real life to live. I got married to Joe Mihm (class of 74) right before my senior year started. After high school, I worked as a secretary and went to Frank Phillips college. In 1980 and 1983 we had sons, and in 1990 I went to work at the Philtex Chemical Plant (once part of Phillips Petroleum). While our boys were young, we were involved in the elementary school activities at St. John's, cub scouts and boy scouts, soccer, and baseball. In 1997, our oldest son passed away at age 16 from an asthma attack. We continued to be active in our younger son's activities, including high school baseball. Our son graduated from BHS in 2002 and spent 4 years at Oklahoma State University, graduating in 2006 with a dual degree in Finance and Aviation Management. He promptly got a job with Conoco Phillips, and got married in 2007. He currently lives with his wife in Anchorage Alaska. We learned to scuba dive in 1998, and have taken many dive trips to the Caribbean and Indonesia. Joe is a scuba instructor at Frank Phillips College.
