Rebecca's Story

Life in "79" I moved out of the area and down to Monticello.I lived on Lake Freeman for 22 years. We fished off my pier and we enjoyed the peacefulness of a small town. in 1985 my son David was born. After that my house was always filled with children. He had so many friends it drove his father batty lol.We spent many family trips going to Mississippi where is father's relates lived. He attended school there til "95". After that I home schooled him for a while. I came back up this way in 2001 because life there was no longer tolerable. I transfered my Job at Walmart in Monticello to here. WE lived with my folks til i started renting a house in New Chicago from my brother. We lived there 5 years. My son and I live in Lake Station now and I am happy here. I met Paul in 2005 and we Bought a house last year in Sept. I also started working for Gander Mountain in Sept. I have had a few jobs since moving back but nothing like this one. I really enjoy working there and all my years of experience in Hunting, Camping and Fishing help me be a better associate. The community has changed so much since the 70's that I barely recognize it. either moved or we have lost contact through the years. It was easy back in the day when riding bikes and going to the pool were summer activities we all enjoyed. Being an adult makes you wonder what were we thinking when we dreamed of growing up and being on our own. I miss spending time with friends and sharing the bonds of friendship with people who know where you came from cause they came from the same place, walked the same sidewalks, went to the same schools. Now we are parents and grandparents. I can remember walking to the Dairy Maid and buying candy and Pops. I remember sitting at the Red Rooster and listening to the Juke Box and laughing and joking with friends. Going to the Y&W 1&2 to watch the triple feature. Cruising Broadway and going to the Mall.Since then I have become a mother. Lost my Mom and learned what life really is. The road is sometimes Rocky and sometimes smooth. The days are filled with happy times, sad time and moments to recall in later life as the Good Times of my youth. What I miss is all your faces and the laughter we shared. Hope your days are filled with many happy times and precious moments to charish. Blessed Be Rebecca
