Michael's Story
I retired from the Criminal Investigation Division in 2003 after 32 years. My most interesting assignment was in the international arena as the senior analyst responsible for interacting with Canada, South America and the US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network. I traveled world-wide and it was a great experience.
I now live in Virginia and am a contractor to a major law enforcement agency providing financial and technical consult.
Virginia is a great State & Michigan was originally part of the Virginia Provincial Commonwealth, so I just moved closer to the House of Burgesses in Williamsburg, VA. There is a great deal to see and do on the East Coast and the winters are much milder, yet I do enjoy returning to Michigan especially the Traverse City / Petosky area.

eturned to Detroit, rented a Lincoln Continental Signature Series and drove through the old neighborhood (Chalfonte & Dexter), past the church and high school and down my old street (Lawton), stopping at the public school (Custer) where I went to kindergarden at Linwood and the Lodge. I observed many vacant lots and burned out houses. I found it ironic that I was there (driving a Lincoln which was not stolen) and how far I had come, never imagining at 5 years old what I would do in life. Survival and street smarts served me well. I received a good basic education and developed a good value system thanks to my parents and the educators at St. Gregory. Thanks to all my friends, teammates and coaches for your support and friendship. This was my 45 year reunion and it was great!
