Marilyn's Story
Things have changed a bit. We're no longer with the band, having left it the first of the year. 14 years was long enough. We still make music, but at "jam sessions" with friends at parks and in local trailer parks with other friends. A lot of it is outdoors, but the weather hasn't been kind lately. When it warms up we'll be in the Largo Central Park again, playing ukulele and keyboard and banjo. Can't help it, we just like music. And I continue to write songs. Old people do strange things. Hey, I'm 76, I know about old people!...Expand for more
The walking has decreased too. Using car instead of feet. Just walking short distances these days. I've written 70 or so songs since I was 65. Can't remember half of them, but other people do, so that's a good thing. "Not Yet" is a fave.
I always wanted to be a piano player when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were right.I also like to knit for the "preemies" at the local hospital. Caps, mostly, and I'm learning booties. If only I were younger and able to learn faster!
