David's Story

Wow it is almost 25 years! Am I really that old? My life has been quite a fun roller coaster ride (which I have learned I am a thrill seeker). Since graduating I have gone from working as a computer drafter to becoming an architect. I moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in the summer of 1986. This became my away from home party life for about 7 years. I worked for a civil engineer, and then moved on to a world renowned landscape architect. After moving up the ladder and becoming manager of the computer aided drafting (CAD) department I decided to start my own CAD business. While working on my own I started to learn more about life. I learned about evolution a little in school but even more so as friends talked to me about how this ¿had to be¿. One New Years Eve while at a party I remember sitting on a couch and wondering ¿is this all there is to life¿? I remember all the things I learned in church and at school while growing up. My adult life and my childhood came to a crash at an intersection of life. I decided to dedicate the next year to determine the truth and decide if evolution or creation was real. My own decision was ¿if evolution is real then religion is for needy people and if creation is real then there is a God and maybe I should grow up¿. Well it took almost 6 months when I made a decision and decided that I did not need a full year to find the truth. I studied Darwin and his...Expand for more
disciples to a tee. I studied what scientists and archeologist found. I studied how and why things change. Do you know what I found out? I found out overwhelmingly that creation is the only possibility. I figured (using scientific methodology that if creation is real then there must be a God. Ummm uh oh that means I only solved part of my problem. My friends and I had believed most people will make it to heaven. So now who is right? In order to not make a long story even longer, I realized the only God not still in the grave IS the big J.C. himself. I returned to church with great conviction. My new friends became of a group of about 12 ¿ 15 volleyball players. We spent a lot of time together. I met my future wife while playing volleyball. We met in the beginning of March. The end of May she went to Russia as a missionary. She returned the beginning of August and a week later I proposed to her. At this point we had never been alone together. Our first kiss which was supposed to be at the alter but we cheated before that. My previous years made me control myself before becoming married. From August until November 27th we were engaged and after only 7 total month of knowing each other we became married. As of 2007 it makes it 14 years. We have two beautiful boys that add enjoyment to my life. I went back to school to become an architect and plan to have my license in 2008. --- The end (for now)
