Kenneth's Story

Update October 2014 My oldest daughter, Nicole is married and now has a 4 year old son. My only grandchild. They currently live in Ormond Beach, Florida. They came down from Tallahassee. She is a CPA and works for State Attorney General. Her husband works for FDLE in the Criminal Investigation unit. My son David is married and still works for Florida Power and LIght in their technical support division doing whatever. He continues to live in West Palm Beach. He has no children but use to raise two horses that had been neglected and were ready to be put down. One recently died after they cared for it for 17 years. They have had the other horse for nearly 20 years. His tortoise that he had for years somehow got away (at least that is what he told me). Who knows, maybe he ate the thing. My youngest daughter, Vanessa will be 15 in a couple weeks and she is still a hand full. She is still into horses and has been riding since about 5. Of course she has her own horse now, thank you Dad. She still keeps very busy, between her horse and school. She received a scholarship so is attending a private high school down here and is still maintaining her grades. She is on her school's equestrian team. And like all kids growing up, she already knows more than we do. As for her other pets, she still has her tortoise and a dog. As for me, I am still working for the U.S. Treasury Dept as an IRS agent. I do sort of look forward to retiring but do not know what I would do with all the time. I am still spending some time in Peru and Colombia. Have been to Costa Rica, Peru and Colombia this year and will make another trip somewhere before year-end. Still loving to hike around and see the other cultures. Have met s...Expand for more
ome really nice people. Wish I had paid more attention to learning Spanish in school. The 10 words I know come in handy but usually turns into a laughing matter. Actually, I try to memorize some Spanish on my flights going down there. But I do survive for the most part when in the foreign countries. I really want to go to China and that area of the world. I had my visa at one point but it was good for only a year and I did not go. Yes, you actually need a visa to visit there, not just a passport. I will get another visa and hopefully, next year I will get over there, but will definitely wait for all the protest, etc. to die down especially over the Hong Kong deal - aw, let there be peace. Want to get some trips in as these hiking adventures are starting to wear me down. Do not realize getting toooo old until walking up a mountain in Colombia a while back. Time creeps up on us all. Another year just around the corner (2015). People keep asking when I am going to retire. I guess I will continue to work, for a while, unless I wake up one morning and do not feel like going in anymore. Of course I can work at home so that sometimes helps also. Right now in good health, I guess, so will continue to work. I get enough days off to do what I want to do. Not remarried, yet. Actually, getting use to being single and just dating. Still playing golf, some tennis, fishing, horse back riding with my daughter and of course traveling. Even occasionally still get up on the roller-blades. I hope all had a very great year during 2014 and a better year to come. Also wish all a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year. To all a Merry Xmas and Happy New Year. Sort of early, but seldom on this site anymore. Ken
