Carol's Story
Life
Since leaving WDPH, I graduated from NS Teachers College and later St. F. X. and taught for nearly 27 years. Peter MacKay and I dated in high school and in 2007 we celebrated our 42nd year of marriage with three weeks in Europe in September. It was a wonderful time... we were in Paris for five days, then we flew to Rome for three days. After that we took a train to the south of Italy and stayed for three days in a Villa. The food, the view, the swimming were awesome. Peter drove for the three days we were there and that was an experience to remember!! Some of Italy's roads in the south are not as passable as our ATV trails! We spent six days in Tuscany - in and near Sienna, then flew back to France for three days in the Loire Valley.
Peter and I have three children, five grandchildren, two dogs and two cats.

tou as Harbourmaster, as well as for a stevedoring company; we live on the old family farm in Braeshore where Peter grew up. The farm doesn't look like one now; we have sold land for building lots so I guess we have contributed to the loss of excellent farmland to rural developent, but farming was not for us!!
Right now my main interest is genealogy and I am tracing our family's roots back to Scotland, Ireland, Norway... It is an extremely interesting journey. I have always loved history and now that the history I am researching is personal, there is a new dimension to my reading. I also belong to a Book Club and have read authors and genre I normally would not gravitate to. The group is a large one and we all share our opinions readily!!
It is a good place to be in my life... grandchildren, reading, researching, gardening and hopefully more travel.
