I got married in 1983, having been with him for two years already, dating and living together. I was widowed in the spring of 2006, four months after my husband was diagnosed with liver cancer. when I couldn't look after myself. As a result, we have a very special relationship.... not only as mother and daughter but as friends.
It's been a difficult road to travel, learning to get out and date again after so long. I had little experience with it when I was young, since I was so shy.
