Neil's Story

Well most people who knew me in High School new the side of me that was all about what Neil wants to do he does. I have grown up a lot since then! Hopefully we all have. After high school I messed around at a community college for awhile trying to figure out what I wanted out of life. I did a 6 week back pack trip with Brent Nearhood around Europe. I have done several trips to Hawaii, as well as Cabo San Lucas. In addition, I took many road trips to LA, San Diego, Palm Springs. I love to travel!!!! Enjoyed my early twenties more then most should or did. Decided to join the rest of the world in my mid twenties and look for not just a job, but a career. I was a Production Manager over 20-30 people for 6 years. I then moved into the Project Manager position at the same company for another 4 years. All the while learning AutoCAD from the owners dad. Helping one of our customers on a project with infra red and night vision technology brought me to my current job. I got asked to travel to Florida to help install this camera system on a yacht. For the past 3 years I have been traveling to Florida installing cameras on huge yachts and ships. I usually travel for a week at a time 8-12 times per year. Some trips have been for installation some have been sales calls, or just appearances for our company. One of the events I went to was a huge "All White" party like what you see on the travel channel of all the really really rich go to. Not my crowd, but it was definitely an experience I will not forget. It was put on by Nikki Beach if your curious check out their website. I was given a year membership to any of their parties, of which I will never use. I have done lunches, boat rides, a...Expand for more
nd hung out with a billionaire on many of these trips. I would not call him a friend as he does not get close to many people, but I have had a taste of what a billionaire lives like. Although traveling to Florida sounds like a pretty nice way to work, I often work so much I do not get out to do much. often the days are 16-20 hours long, working in a shipyard with no AC, and wearing boots and jeans. Florida in August with no AC is not pleasant! We have a couple of opportunities that might take me to Maylasia and possibly South Korea. I have really enjoyed the people and places that I have been in the last few years though. When I am not traveling to Florida or other places, I spend my time as a drafter using AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Which is really something I love doing. Not to mention the pay isn't bad. As of late, I have fallen in love! I am with someone who enjoys many of the same things I do. Travel, football, food, and yes I am slowly trying to convert her to love poker. She is a southern belle from Louisana. We moved in together a year ago last February...right before we went to the Nickelback concert. She has two girls from a previous marriage that I adore Max (10) and Sarah Grace (8). Thankfully this last week we added a little testosterone to the mix, . Beaux (Bo) Jaxson Andersen was born (very southern name, coon-ass if you will). He weighed in at 9lbs. 4 oz. and has brought immeasurable joy to my life!!! So not bad for a kid who didn't want to go to school, do homework, listen to authority, and all that jazz. I came around, and now am a very happy, content, and might I say well fed individual (those southern gals can COOK!) So what have you been doing with your time?
