Sam's Story
After leaving the weirdness of El Rito, froze in Colo for College, joined the US Coast Guard. Ran 40 ft rescue boats out of San Juan Puerto Rico, then spent 3 more years as a USCG scuba diver out of St. Thomas USVI throughout the Caribbean. Back to Alb after enlistment up plus 2 yrs. Single and drunk with all leave $ accumulated, till had to get a job. APD had been soliciting ex USCG personnel, and I thought might as well, they will probably kick me out anyway. They didn't. Can u imagine me with a badge and a gun?? (See that's what I thought!!!) Anyway mostly worked valley patrol then on to traffic. Got hurt, retired medically, moved to San Diego because pain was bad in the cold. Not withstanding that all my felons were getting out of Santa Fe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! D...Expand for more
o you remember HOFAS?? I had to arrest him for his own safety as he WALKED through a GLASS DOOR, stole a typewriter (completely gone on the drooga), and was walking down edith street in the middle lane. My greatest regret is that as a result of the arrest he was killed in prison. I never really enjoyed the PD after that. When I got hurt, I took the ticket and punched out happily. Now in San Diego, have a son that is Chief Petty Officer on the USS RUSSELL. New wife wanted kids with this now old man!! So I have Sammy 14 and Cassandra 9. Love being with them every and all day. So that's it. Not much, and less intersting then watching paint dry. I joined this deal to catch up with the very few of us from El Rito Sam D. Salazar Oh and remember those damn dorms?
