Suzanne's Story
I would like everyone to remeber as being friendly and as a sweet spirit.
I always wanted to be a printer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were right.
I blow off steam by petting my cats and spinning yarn.
If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have plenty of rest, good attitude, and patience to be able to deal with the day-to-day.
My father is my hero. He is always there when I need him the most. For being 90 he does things that some 70 year old dream of doing. In 1994 he went to Dor, Israel on an archeological dig for 2 months. Today farms and takes care of 2 acres all by him self.
I have lived in Tacoma and Home Washington. I now live in Tacoma, but wish I still lived in Home. I moved back to Tacoma to be closer to my work. I would move back to Home if I could afford it.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Susie Ogden, because we both like to shop for antiques and enjoy each others company.
Right now genealogy is my obsession and it has been off and on since 1979. Spinning yarn could also be considered my obsession. I love feel of the wool and lanolin.
If I could improve my home, I'd remodel bathroomand/or kitchen and increase the size of rooms. My dream home would be an old victorian home.
If I won $100 million, I'd give shares to my family members, donate some to the cancer society. Then I would spend the rest on a new home, a new car, new truck and on trips to different cities to research my family history.
My current age is 52. Whe...Expand for more
n I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be one foot in the grave. I was so completely wrong.
Eleven years ago I was working hard for Tacoma Public Utilities until I got fibromyalgia and had to take a disability retirement.
My best friend would tell you I'm fun loving and loves life, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as shy.
I share my home with my two cats, which I find fun and relaxing.
I won several blue ribbons and a few red and white ribbons for my hand spun yarn.
If i had one do-over I wouldn't have so shy and been more out going. I missed out on a lot by keeping to my self.
In 10 years, I hope to be well. I'm going to get there by living a healthier life and learning as much as I can about treatment and how to live with my illness.
My oldest boy friends, I have known they since I was 3 or 4 and able to go across the alley. We clicked because we didn't have a choice, we were the only kids of our age in the neighborhood. My oldest girl friend, Kathy, I met on the way to the first day of kindergarten.
At my high school reunion everyone would be surprised by my gray (almost white) hair.
My first job was at Sumner News Review, Sumner's newspaper, where I got paid about $4.00 a hour to lay out the newspaper. What I remember most about it is it didn't last long.
I will never forget when I was child a neighborhood boy gave me a ride on his bike handlebars and I put my foot in the spokes and almost cut off my big toe.
I was fortunate, 36 stitches later and the doctor saved my big toe.
