Nancy's Story
The new photo is of me and my uncle Bob, who was recoverying from a chipped bone in his hip. He was released from the nursing home two days after this photo and three days later, had his 82nd birthday. This took place in October 2008 when I was in MI for my high school reunion.
The reunion was terrific. I'm so glad I went, and glad I stayed after the active weekend to spend time with aunts, uncle and cousins. The family is losing their elders, so I made it a point to visit with those who remained.....Each of us enjoyed the visits.

The STORY WIZARD asked:
Q:Parent? Share what you've learned from your kids.
A:That children eventually learn to have consideration for others. Girls learn this earlier than boys (some boys never learn this lesson).
WIZARD wants to know what happened to my first crush. Hilarious question! Good ol' "Scientific Jim" still lives on the farm in Lapeer where he was raised. He's had a rough life, and is now raising one grandchild with #3 wife. I call him "Scientific" becau...Expand for more
se that was his key word before every card game, sandbox city, swimming, plans for a movie on Saturday...he was always trying to be scientific and I thought he'd go into scientific farming one day. Never happened.
WIZARD: Still dress like you did 10 0r 20 years ago? Talk style.
A:Oh yes, I still wear pullover shirts and slacks or jeans. I was always behind the times and if I tried to join in, it was 8 years later. High fashion is a foreign word to me. LOL
WIZARD: Got trophies on your mantel? Share a big victory. - My bowling trophy collected enough dust and now lives in the shed. My proudest awards were from the three items I woodburned last year. The large oval got a blue ribbon; the two medium ovals got a joint red (2nd place) ribbon. All three went to San Antonio, TX for my great-grandchildren's Christmas.
From the WIZARD:
I always wanted to be a cowgirl when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a ridiculous idea. As it turns out, they were totally correct. I'm afraid of horses unless they're racing on a track.
