William's Story
A quick update August 27 2010 ---
My wife retired last Friday so things will be changing some. We just got back from a 12 day ALASKA land and cruise vacation. A great trip. Went with my brother (my twin) and his wife and another couple. My brother had served in the Army in the early 70's at FT Wainwright in Fairbanks. He saw a big difference, but still few people and mostly wilderness.
I'm trying to spend more time getting rid of stuff, but still can't help adding to some of my collections (a bit of a disease). With 2 houses, a storage unit, full garage, 2 full attics, a full basement, and 4 full sheds I have a bit to do. I still have fun collecting -- mostly older sports stuff.
Added a few photos.
Take care

After graduating from Chaminade in 64 I went to the University of Dayton (along with a few other grads) and got my engineering degree. What started as mechanical engineering ended as Industrial engineering (a 4 1/2 yr degree that ended as a 5 year degree). ...Expand for more
Worked at Grumman on LI for 32 years until retiring (actually Northrop treated us old guys so bad that I accepted a lay off package when I turned 55). Married in 1973 with 3 children who all grew up in Commack in the house we still live in. My 2 daughters are married and live in Deer park and Kings Park -- nice and close. One grandson from older daughter Laura. My son lives in a small house we have in Massapequa where we keep the boats.
Life has been good to me and my family. My wife Ellen grew up in Greenlawn LI. Our parents have passed away over the past 13 years. I did have open heart surgery (quadruple by-pass) in August 1996, but am doing fine. Spend my time taking care of houses and boats, enjoying my family and friends and selling my years and years of collectibles (mostly sports cards) on ebay.
My twin brother Dick, who went to St Mary's and then to Manhattan College move to Annapolis MD about 10 years ago when his Grumman job with the F-14 Navy plane engineering moved there.
