Kenneth's Story
Remembering my youth:
Hello to all of the individuals who ever crossed my path..............especially those I come to think of fondly from Transfiguration (Our Saviour ) School and La Salle Academy. I even remember a selected few from PS 122 (Robert and Elizabeth, whom I had a crush on.......Elizabeth that is).
But in regards to Transfiguration, there were a few teachers that left a mighty impression on me who I truly think of often: Sr. Barbara, whom I had for the 4th and 6th grade......she loved it when I imitated SNOOPY for her in our class play "The Great Pumpkin....Charlie Brown"....she was tough when needed to be but encouraging with the same amount of passion.................Brother Ray, who later became Father Ray; he baptized my first born in 1988 and he recently baptized my other three children on May 16th, 2009.....he was intimidating at first but eventually softened up to become not only approachable but well liked......he believed in me at a time when no one else wanted to....(remember the softball game guys when he picked me over George Arreola against the team from Holy Trinity?)...all the guys signed a petition to remove me for George who was a better ball player at the time, but he felt that would crush my confidence and spirit...and it worked...............and last but not least was Mr. McGrath....he was an absolute goof, but a cool goof none the less.....he took the fear from me regarding asking questions I or he might think are stupid....he used to say "I rather be a fool for a minute than a fool for the rest of my life".....corny but effective......Does anyone ...Expand for more
remember his teachings in Music Class regarding Barbra Streisand "A STAR IS BORN"?...Man that was funny...........On a bad note, remember Miss Judy in the 3rd grade? What a nut job she was; a real psycho...remember when she used to constantly beat up on this kid named Eric?....also, does anyone remember "The Electric Company"?.......she got thrown out for apparently doing something inappropriate with an eighth grader...talk about your cougars...
I also remember fondly the following individuals, for good or bad, they too left an impression:
From Transfiguration:
Martin Martinez, Joey Rosario, Jorge Herrera, Filiberto Ortiz, Edwin Boire, Anthony (Tony) Lopez, Jackie Cedeno, Maggie Lange, Lisa Irizarry, Jackie McCullough, Ray Rivera, Jocelyn Hernandez, Daisy Oritz, Judy Colon, Marlon Zambrano, Judy Lange, Chico, Porky, Donna, Yvette Negron, Yvette Matta, George Arreola (my homework savior), Carol, Annabelle, Roxanne and Vicky to name a few.......
From La Salle Academy:
Joey Velasquez, Robert Sanchez, Louis Ras, Eric Reyes, Stanly Schramko, Robert Jones, Neil Ruffin, Kenneth Ho and Sergio, to name a few........
This mainly is the reason I decided to indulge in this arena called "Classmates.com".........in essence trying to re-connect with my youth........the individuals who ment something to me at one time or another........that did, in fact, leave an impression for good reasons or bad, but an impression none the less.................
I hope to hear from all, some or a few..........
In any event, I hope all is doing well.......you and your families.........
God bless,
Ken (Kenny)
