Amy's Story

Living a semi-quiet life here in the country right now. I love my quiet town and neighborhood. I spend 10-12 hours a day at work in a highly stressful position with killer deadlines, budget constraints, dueling ego's and the pressure of bringing a product in on time, and under or on budget. I crave the slower pace I have when I come home and I especially look forward to the weekends where I can enjoy the peace and slower pace of the country life. My life took on many twists but I love where I am and who I am at this time in my life. After high school my life took a path that I had not planned or was prepared for. I joined the military and absolutely loved it. I intended to make the military my career. Alas, my life took on another unexpected twist. I married someone I met at Fort Lewis, Washington and became pregnant with our first child. Because I was on orders for Germany and could not take my child I left the military. I traveled with my first husband, who was still in the military and we lived all over this country. My favorite was Hawaii! We had 3 children together and they are the light and loves of my life. I divorced several years ago and have since remarried. I now have a step daughter, Rachel. Scott and I met while working together at Longaberger. My 3 children are all grown and on their own. I could not be any more proud of them. My oldest ,Tara is a strong, confident, independent woman. Lorraine is a single mom with dreams and goals and nothing will stop her from ach...Expand for more
ieving them! She serves in the Navy Reserve, is an EMT and works in the emergency room at Licking Memorial. My son Tyler is an incredible man with a gentle soul and kind heart. A few years ago he became seriously ill and I almost lost him. I watched him suffer and as his health slipped away I experienced true fear. With the good doctors at Children's Hospital Tyler made a full recovery, however it stole almost 2 years of his life. He is a gentle caring man who treats everyone with respect and has as wicked a sense of humor as his mother does. He is engaged to be married to a wonderful girl, Tiffany. Lorraine gave me my first granddaughter who is the light of my life!!! She is one spoiled girl. Kaylee is an angel to me. She was born just 2 days before my grandfather passed away. It was a difficult time for me. As my beloved grandfather slipped away, Kaylee came into our lives. I work at Longaberger in Product Development. I am over the development of all WoodCrafts and Handle items. The wood industry is a complex one and while I have struggled to learn I have enjoyed every moment. My job is stressful, interesting, frustrating and fulfilling. I work long, hard hours but I am always proud of the final product! My life has brought me tears, pain, joy, happiness, frustration and love. I would trade little of the tears and pain. I have grown with each and every tear and smile. I am married to a man who loves me, I have wonderful children and I have a career that I love. I am blessed.
