Cynthia's Story
A heartfelt hello to all my old schoolmates! Thanks for sharing your pictures... I love seeing how much your kids look like you!
To catch you up on my adventures after high school, I went to UW for a couple of years before accepting an internship with Craig Thomas in the US Congress. For several years I worked and lived on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., then in Annapolis, MD, and I loved it. In 1996, I moved to southern Florida for a change of pace but within the year moved back here to Glenrock because my Dad was quite ill. (He's better now, thanks for asking...)
While lingering here, I have helped to grow a couple of businesses, graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in English from UW (they have an extension office in Casper), bought the house next to my parents, settled down, enjoyed a short-yet-instructive marriage, and have given birth to two of the world's cutest and sweetest little boys, who are now 4 and 2 years old.
Being single in Glenrock can be a drag, because it is like suburbia, but being a single mother in Glenrock ...Expand for more
is both a nightmare and a dream. One gets to appreciate the small things because that is all there is. For instance, last week part of the old Grant Elementary School was reopened as the new Community Rec Center, and that has lifted my spirits because not only does the Rec appear to be busier than ever, which is good, but I can now walk to the library AND the Rec Center with my kids. How exciting is that?!
As unbelievably blessed as I am, I have decided it is time to quit relying on luck and to once again apply myself to the Ivy-covered halls of higher education. I was always good in science, so I am thinking medical school, but maybe research, or perhaps teaching. Naturally, I am grateful for any supportive comments or prayers you might send in my "general direction."
In conclusion, thanks for reading my bio. As I always thought our friendships would endure, there's a very, very good chance I would love to hear how YOU are doing. Please don't think twice about dropping me a line: JUST DO IT!
