Bryce's Story
Let's see I was on a promising career in the medical industry until, as I'm sure most people have by now heard, I was in an accident on the job. I was a Service Technician for a medical supply Co. I was learning a lot about the medical industry after several yrs. of dead end jobs at machine shops. I really thought I was on my way, when my accident happened due to incompitance of my superiors and neglegence. I was quite happy with the possition I was hired for. As a Service Technician, I had exellent coustomer service skills with the patience I took care of. I had been given awards for my great customer service skills. I set homebound patients up on oxygen and other equipment, such as wheelchairs, hospital beds, patient lifts etc. I was foced into a promotion with out pay where I was to deliver liquid oxygen as well as my other duties. ly frozen material that is stored at -328 degrees below zero. While I was driving, the tank that I was carring in my van was leaking. The liquid oxygen got into the cab of the van and froze me to the steering wheel, where I drove into a tree. The van exploded w/ me in it! I thawed out then climbed out. I was rushed to Hillcrest Burn Unit via Lifeflight where I stayed for 8mo. I had sustained 3rd and 4th degree burns. I underwent about 18-19 surgeries on my legs, head, shoulder, and ears. I also had a potion of my muscle tissue removed from my legs. I had to learn to walk again. My life has been a struggle since, fighting the insurance Co. I have started school twice now and due to the injury and health problems as a result of the injury have had to withdrawl. It's been a long road, piecing my life back together but I have faith and a little boy to push me forward.
