Michael's Story

I live on a few acres on the west side of Puget Sound, across the Sound from Seattle. I'm retired now, but spent most of my life working in non-profits. I served 9 years in Washington, DC as an advocate on Capitol Hill on behalf of individuals with disabilities. After I graduated from Purdue and left Ft. Wayne, I went to graduate school in philosophy at the University of New Mexico. I was advanced to candidacy for the Ph.D in Philosopy, but never wrote a dissertation. here my son was born. In 1984, I was hired at the National Association of Rehabilitation Facilities in DC and spent 9 years there. After 9 years, I was anxious to get back to the Pacific Northwest, so I got a job near Seattle. I ran a program delivering employment services to individuals with disabilities 20 miles west of Seattle. Now, I'm retired, thank god. I weld, build speaker systems, read, rebuild boats and motors, and have so much to do and learn, I barely have a spare moment. The internet is a tremendous wealth of knowledge, so I learn a lot there. If we all live long enough to have another reunion, I plan to attend. Michael
