Edward's Story
Dear Friends,
It is strange speaking to many I have not seen in over forty years. However, I haven't forgotten many of you though I only went to school with you for three years. After high school I joined the Navy and served on two ships the last of which was an aircraft carrier in Vietnam. I got out of the navy in 1968, returned to Colfax and married Kathleen Nuckles in Dec. of that year. We built a home in Colfax had three children, Crystal, 1970, Jason 1972 and william in 1978. I finished Bible College one month after Will was born. We moved to Smithfield, NC where we worked on starting a church for seven years. In 1986 we moved to Raleigh and worked in Friendship Christian School. In 1990 I went with Metlife and Kat started working for State Employees Credit Union. I started Christian Stewardship Ministries, which I use to help Independent Churches, Christian Schools and Bible Colleges establish Bible based compensation packages for their employees. In 1996 I helped establish North Raleigh Christian Academy in Raleigh, NC. We started with 400 students and no money and using a Southern Baptist Church for classrooms until we could get our own. God miraculously laid it on one parent's heart to write a check for $33 million dollars because God told him to "build this school". Today we own 40 acres of land with a school with ...Expand for more
180,000 square feet, two gymnasiums, an indoor competetion pool, 550 seat fine arts center, state of the art football, softball, tennis and soccer fields. As I write this we are in a $ 6 million dollar expansion to add a three story classroom building, another recreation building and full size soccer field! This has been the most exciting time of my life. Currently we serve 1376 students but after the expansion is finished we will be able to accomodate 1800. If you are ever in Raleigh and would like to see a miracle I would be delighted to give you a guided tour. By the way Carol ATkins smith grandchildren attend this school! To God be the glory, "Great Things He Hath Done"! My cell number is 919-614-5513. Would love to hear from you!
Sincerely,
Ed Thomason
I have two heroes, one living on earth the other in heaven. One was run over by a policeman in Greensboro when he was four years of age. He has been crippled in both legs and one arm since then. He however attended and graduated from A Christian school in Raleigh. He then attended Liberty University and received his bachelors degree. Next he went to Bob Jones University to get his masters degree and become an evangelist. He has done so much with so little he is truly and inspiration to everyone who gets within sight of him! His name is Marcus Twisdale my friend, my hero!
