Angela's Story
After graduating in 1998, I spent most of my summers and longer breaks working for my grandfather's litigation support company to help finance my education at Lubbock Christian University (LCU). While at LCU, I studied social work, participating in a social club (Kappa Phi Kappa) and various mission projects. After graduating with my Bachelor of Science in Social Work in May 2002, I briefly worked in one of the cottages at the Children's Home of Lubbock as a relief staff member. In November of 2002, I decided I wanted to continue my education to increase my opportunities to serve others. Texas. About a month later, I had my first job, working as a case manager at a children's home in the Fort Worth area. I loved the kids I worked with and being able to combine my two greatest loves: mission work and children, all in a Christian workplace. I worked there for two years, then decided it was time to move on. I then worked for the Mental Health sector of an insurance company as a care manager. I ended that job after about a year after being reconnected with the love of my life, getting married and moving to Colorado where he is stationed at Fort Carson. We are currently expecting our first child, a baby boy, due the first part of June. Sadly, my husband has missed most of the pregnancy stuff due to deployment, but should be here for R&R just in time for the birth and to enjoy the first few weeks of our lives as a family.
