Joan's Story
This isn't me of course, it is my pet Zoe. Isn't she a doll? About me, I did attend East High in Rochester, NY for acouple yrs and finished at St Anne Institute in Albany, NY, graduating in 1973. I moved from NY to Georgia in 1975, later married and had a daughter and son, then divorced many yrs later & moved to Texas in 1990, met my currant husband, Mike in '91, was heaven sent, but you know men will still be men, but he is my friend, loving & caring person I am very lucky to have met him, we married in 1992. Just had our 16th anniversary Oct.17,08!
He has 2 children, and one 10 yr old grandson, so we are Nana & Papa. Wish we had more grandbabies! The kids live in the city and we moved to the country almost 2 yrs ago, so we have our country kids also. Right now have 1 pet wild hog, I raised from a baby, she is ...Expand for more
over 3 now, she also has been on CNN's site 12/06 "Zoe the pig" We also are building up our domestic hog herd, total of 21 total now and 2 pregnant sows due this summer. The demand is high, grain fed/no steroids or antibiotics. There are also lots of plum, blackberry & peach trees on our place so I become the canning fool...except the weather was too hot and windy, so I missed being a fool canning this season it seems.
Needless to say we stay busy. I enjoy visiting some elderly friends I have met here over the years.
I have primarily been in the medical field, but now a pig farmer in a small town. We just love it, the city had gone mad! Like most other cities, just growing too fast and the teens are for the most part wild, they need parenting classes before you can have a child these days. We thought we were bad...
